Basic Routing Course The one day basic course will cover all the aspects of using the hand held portable router, including safety. Using the straight fence, bearing guided work, using bushes and jigs and workholding. The course will finish with an introduction to inverted routing with a demonstration on how to make a raised panel door. The course offers plenty of 'hands on' time to allow the student to get used to working with the router and performing the various operations in this interesting area of woodwork. A course information pack and certificate will be issued at the end of the course. |
Router Jig Making The jig making course will enable the router user to learn the basic skills required to make simple jigs and fixtures. An introduction to jig making tools and materials and using the router to make jigs and templates. The main area that will be covered will be jigs for use with guide bushes and their construction. The student will make a jig they can take home with them. An information pack and certificate will be issued at the end of the course. |
| Advanced Routing The advanced course will cover the use of the router in the inverted mode. All relevant safety aspects will be covered along with an introduction to the use of dust extraction. Students will have the opportunity to use shop build tables along with proprietary models during the course. Mounting and setting up the routers in the tables will be covered and the choice of suitable tooling. Fence work and free hand bearing guided work will be covered in detail. Students will make a raised panel door with a curved top rail which they can take home. The course is practical and hands on to allow the student to get used to setting and using inverted routers. A course information pack and certificate will be issued at the end of the course. |
Two Day Routing Course This two day course covers many aspects of routing including hand held mode, table mounted routing including hand held mode, table mounted routing, routing using jigs and fixtures, and an introduction to jig and template making, enabling the student to construct jigs and fixtures to aid the use of the router. Course information pack and certificate of attendance will be issued at the end of the course. |
